I’ve mentioned that I’m getting things together for some sort of emergency situation.  Tornado, power outage… whatever.  Phase 1 is collecting water.  In the event that our water supply becomes unavailable or unusable, we need to have water.

That’s going okay and is still in progress.

Something presented itself yesterday though.  Something that made me get a jumpstart on phase 2 – collecting food.  I was at the grocery store yesterday and saw cans of soup being sold two-for-one.  Wow!  That’s a hell of a deal!  This is good soup too…. Campbell’s Select.

I checked the cans and found that they’re all set with expiration dates of September 2012… two years from now.  In a few years, all that food will need to be cycled out in favor of newer, fresher product.  The water will have to be rotated as well.  One way or another though, we have phase 2 underway.
